Facing the fear, staying in the game

Where Souls Find Sanctuary

Sometimes success itself can feel disorienting. In my new blog post, I reflect on fear, trust, and what it takes to stay in the game - personally, professionally, and musically.

Dear Reader,

Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and found time to celebrate with those you love. After our London Conversation concerts wrapped up, Frances and I both enjoyed some downtime with Double Keyed and took a moment to re-group.

For me, the new year is a chance to reflect and give myself a bit of direction - mostly a few goals with a flexible pathway to reach them. For the past few years, I’ve done this by choosing a word of the year and checking in periodically to see how I’m doing. Last year, my word was “Alignment.” For Double Keyed, that meant listening to my intuition on the decisions we were making while staying true to my heart - and also trying not to let it consume me, which is all too easy when it comes to work.

This year, I actually have two words: Release and Resolve. I’ve wrapped up my reflections on what they mean to me - and what this long-term project is teaching me - in a blog post you can read here:

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, March is MS Awareness Month! Have you wondered why we chose MS FitEffect as our charitable partner for our London Symphony Orchestra project? In our most recent blog post, I share my personal connection to Multiple Sclerosis and the story behind our partnership with MS FitEffect. What began as a dream to record with the London Symphony Orchestra has become something deeper - a project rooted in purpose, hope, and support for families impacted by MS. "It...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, Welcome to spring! This season always brings with it a fresh perspective and the comfort of renewed hope. This certainly isn't lost on Frances and I as we approach the London Symphony recording session at Abbey Road Studios - which is now a mere 20 days away. What some people don't know is that Abbey Road does not open itself up to the public. Tours are not a "thing". While you can go there and take pictures of the outside and of the famous walkway that...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, The last time I wrote to you I was grumbling over rainy (and cold) weather, but today I'm writing while the sun is shining and we are experiencing a balmy 57 degrees in southeastern PA! ☀️ Today my family visited the migrating snow geese at Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve, which for us, always marks the faint emergence of spring. March is finally here and spring is right around the corner - so much to be excited about and grateful for. Speaking of...
