In Love with London ❤️ 🇬🇧 (and What Comes Next)

Where Souls Find Sanctuary

Dear Reader,

Frances and I are still trying to find the words.

It's now been almost a month since our London Symphony and Abbey Road experience and it has certainly taken a bit to recover from not only jet-lag, but the emotional experience that London was. We are happy to share that it WAS everything we had hoped for - and more.

Walking into Abbey Road, knowing that the London Symphony Orchestra was about to record the orchestral parts for our Christmas album…it felt surreal in the quietest, most grounding way. Not overwhelming. Not flashy. Just deeply meaningful.

What struck us most wasn’t just the sound (which was, of course, extraordinary), but the people. The warmth, the humility, the artistry in that room. Musicians at the very top of their craft, showing up with such generosity and care for an album created by 2 Pennsylvania gals - it’s something we won’t forget.

And somehow, London gave us the most beautiful weather all week, the sunshine was plentiful ☀️ Unusual, as we understand it - especially since our hotel had umbrellas for rent!

Here are a few pictures from the beginning or our recording day on April 9th:

In fact, do you recall in a previous newsletter when I told you I would share YOUR (250+) names with the London Symphony? Drumroll please...

Moving Forward

This has already been an extraordinary experience, but crazily enough, our work is not done. We have had multiple layers and phases throughout this project and we now move on to the next.

To give you an idea, here is a timeline for clarity and transparency:

December 2023

  • Double Keyed announces plans for a new Christmas album with the London Symphony Orchestra
  • Goal: $120,000.00 based on projected costs in 2023
  • One donor steps up and contributes $1,100.00 to get us started.

By December 2024

  • Double Keyed raised $22,505.00

September 2025

  • Double Keyed plans 2 fundraising concerts and also learns that prices have increased by $10,000.00.
  • New Goal: $130,000.00
  • Fundraising concerts bring in $23,000.00

By December 2025

  • Double Keyed has raised $81,779.76 total
  • We book LSO and Abbey Road Studios for April 9

April 5, 2026 - (Easter Sunday)

  • The day before we left for London, we surpassed our $130,000.00 goal
  • $134,129.76

Double Keyed crosses a huge milestone!
🎉 🎉 🎉

More people have continued to give since we returned from London.

As of Today
We have received a total of $135,289.76

Moving Forward

Now that we’ve returned and settled the London invoices (including final exchange rates), we have a clear picture of what remains.

As we prepare for the Nashville recording phase, production costs have continued to rise — so we are updating our final project goal:

May 6, 2026: $150,000 - New Goal

At the moment, we are just over $135,000. That means we are already about 90% of the way there — even with the updated goal.

This is extraordinary.

More than 250 individuals and businesses have helped carry this project forward.

We don’t take that lightly...

If you’ve been following this journey and have been considering giving, we would be deeply grateful for your support as we complete this final stage.

Here's how to be a part of it.

Kirstin & Frances

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, The great thing about my relationship with Frances is that she is always giving me a new perspective. She is probably one of the most observant and reflective people I know, and with myself being someone who tends to rush from one thing to the next to “get it all done,” she is a great Yin to my Yang (The Yin-Yangs — new group name? 😅). Case in point: her latest blog. As a lifelong musician, I honestly never reflected much on applause other than when I...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, Happy Easter, if you celebrate! To be honest, getting ready for a major holiday has been one of the last things on my mind lately. Preparing for our London trip while running life and business as usual made an Easter egg hunt and big dinner feel way down the list. Thankfully, my wonderful mother-in-law saved the day - and we had a great holiday because of it. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into a project like this—and I’m not even...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, March is MS Awareness Month! Have you wondered why we chose MS FitEffect as our charitable partner for our London Symphony Orchestra project? In our most recent blog post, I share my personal connection to Multiple Sclerosis and the story behind our partnership with MS FitEffect. What began as a dream to record with the London Symphony Orchestra has become something deeper - a project rooted in purpose, hope, and support for families impacted by MS. "It...
