🚨 Abbey Road. April 9, 2026. We’re in the final stretch.

Where Souls Find Sanctuary

Dear Reader,

We’re thrilled to finally share a milestone that has been years in the making.

On April 9, 2026, Double Keyed will record the orchestral parts of our upcoming Christmas album at Abbey Road Studios, Studio One, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra.

Studio One is synonymous with some of the most iconic orchestral recordings in history, and stepping into it with the London Symphony Orchestra feels both surreal and deeply meaningful. This album has always been about care, craft, and community—and this moment reflects all three.

Just this past weekend, my husband and I watched Mary McCartney's documentary If These Walls Could Sing (currently on Disney+) and was left a bit speechless. The reverence with which people talk about recording there, the resonance and the profound talent that has graced the building...just incredible.

Never mind the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Elton John...watching the segment about Jacqueline du Pré, one of the greatest cellists of all time was inspiring and humbling. She was a young, popular British cellist and recorded almost exclusively at Abbey Road. In fact the last recording she made was there, with her pianist/conductor husband Daniel Barenboim. Jacqueline passed away at the age of 41 from complications from Multiple Sclerosis. You can imagine why the connection to her story hits rather close to home for me. But I digress...

Where we are in the journey

Thanks to an extraordinary circle of supporters, we’ve raised $92,000—70% of our $130,000 goal. We’re now in the final stretch, raising the remaining funds needed to bring this recording fully across the finish line.

Today, we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign to close that final gap.

If you’ve already given: thank you. Your support is the reason this recording date exists.

And if you’ve been considering making a gift—or adding to an earlier one—now truly is the time. This final stretch directly supports studio time, orchestra costs, and the production required to honor the music at the level it deserves.

Giving back as we move forward

As part of this project, we’re also proud to sponsor MS FitEffect, an organization dedicated to improving quality of life for people living with multiple sclerosis through fitness and exercise. Supporting their work reflects our shared belief in strength, resilience, and caring for the bodies that carry us - onstage and beyond.

In the news

We shared this announcement earlier today on WHTM ABC27’s Good Day PA, thanks to the generosity of Brett Thackara and Amy Kehm - who also graciously hosted our London Conversation Fundraisers this past fall. Their continued belief in this project means more than we can say.

We’re deeply aware that this album is not something we’re making alone. It’s being carried - note by note - by a community that has shown up again and again.

With gratitude,
Kirstin & Frances

P.S. To those who have already supported this project:
thank you. Truly. Your generosity is the reason we have a date, a studio, and an orchestra booked. If you’ve been thinking about making an additional gift—or helping us spread the word as we enter this final stretch—know that every contribution now goes directly toward completing the recording. We’re deeply grateful to be carrying this forward with you.

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, The great thing about my relationship with Frances is that she is always giving me a new perspective. She is probably one of the most observant and reflective people I know, and with myself being someone who tends to rush from one thing to the next to “get it all done,” she is a great Yin to my Yang (The Yin-Yangs — new group name? 😅). Case in point: her latest blog. As a lifelong musician, I honestly never reflected much on applause other than when I...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, Frances and I are still trying to find the words. It's now been almost a month since our London Symphony and Abbey Road experience and it has certainly taken a bit to recover from not only jet-lag, but the emotional experience that London was. We are happy to share that it WAS everything we had hoped for - and more. Walking into Abbey Road, knowing that the London Symphony Orchestra was about to record the orchestral parts for our Christmas album…it...

Where Souls Find Sanctuary Dear Reader, Happy Easter, if you celebrate! To be honest, getting ready for a major holiday has been one of the last things on my mind lately. Preparing for our London trip while running life and business as usual made an Easter egg hunt and big dinner feel way down the list. Thankfully, my wonderful mother-in-law saved the day - and we had a great holiday because of it. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into a project like this—and I’m not even...
